thriller Really, did you think anything else would work today? 7 #1 hits, best selling album of all time and one of the best pop albums ever. I was not a superfan, and his life got super weird, but he was extremely talented and pushed music forward with it. His talent will be missed.

  1. I must have been in 2nd grade when this album came out, and it's probably the only thing I listened to for the next two years (until the Bad album was released) - my parents must have really enjoyed that. I remember staying up late to watch the Thriller video, mastering the moonwalk, being concerned when he caught his hair on fire and making a promise to end world hunger when We Are The World was released. But his life was extremely bizarre (and the metamorphosis - seriously, what was that all about?). Looking back, I realize that his path into weirdness began around the time that I quit listening to him. With that, I'm forced to believe that my new musical direction (featuring NKOTB and Vanilla Ice) may have damaged MJ permanently? Strange as he was, a part of me is sad- like a little bit of my childhood was taken from me today or something. :( I was a bit too young for the Farrah craze (although my profile picture says otherwise), but this really bothered me for some reason?

  2. P.S. I also had a Jermaine Jackson album (featuring "Dynamite" - one of my favorite songs until my little brother stepped on the record and cracked it), and several Janet cassettes (and later, CDs). It seems my obsession was with several of the Jackson family members!
