  • Things

    1

This week I am picking the combo of Things for the Mac and iPhone. If you are looking for a simple but versitile task management tool, Things is fantastic. Both of the versions have the same features so once you get used to one, you are well versed in the other. When you combine that with the wi-fi sync, you can easily keep track of tasks at both spots. They can be used indepentantly as well but both together is fantastic.the iPhone app is $10 and the desktop version is $40.

  • Best of 2008 Prep

I am sure everyone is anxiously awaiting my Best of 2008 list. I am narrowing down the albums now and am determined to do a top 10 instead of top 15 like last year.  One question I did want to ask is if people preferred the day-by-day rollout or would you prefer the full list all at once? Also, would people like a top 10 songs of the year list? Let me know what you think.

  • MTVMusic.com

When I was growing up, MTV used to play a lot of music videos, unlike the zero they play now.  In a twist of fate, MTV released a web site that now collects a lot videos, both older and new. Completely legal and not going to be taken down, like YouTube can, MTVMusic.com is a fantastic way to check out music videos for free.

  • Absent Music

I asked awhile ago about bands that you were surprised you hadn't heard before, only to find out they have been making great music for awhile. Now I want to ask, and confess, about music that you don't have in your collection. I have a large collection of music, but one glaring hole in my library is CCR. For whatever reason, I have not purchased, or aquired through other means, any CCR. I do plan on fixing this soon, but I am curious about other people's libraries and music that is absent.

  • Best of 2008 Lists

    1

Well, it must be getting near the end of the year as I have seen my first best of 2008 music list.  Amazon got out the door early with their Best of 2008 Section, including their top 100 albums. I definitely don't agree with everything on their list (Shearwater at 88??), but it is a start I guess.  I look forward to scouting out more lists in the near future and of course, am thinking about my top 10 for the year. With that in mind, if there are more albums you would suggest I check out, please leave a comment.  I have also noticed that I don't have much rap or hip-hop on my list, so if there was any good stuff out there, let me know so I don't come up with a top 10 indie list instead.
