15. The Bravery - The Sun and The Moon
The Bravery are the first on the list at the bottom of the “above average” grouping. The Sun and The Moon is an alternative rock album that has a bit of a poppy sound to it. The album as a whole is better than most that came out this year, but didn’t have anything to really distinguish it from the pack, putting it right at 15.
While it didn’t have anything that distinguished it, I liked almost all of the tracks on the album, with only Angelina being a bit of a disappointment. There were some tracks that stood out from the rest, such as Every Word is a Knife in My Ear. Bad Sun is also a good track that has a pop sound with hints of The Cure in the lyrical stylings. I think the lyrics “I don’t think we belong” fits well with this album and band. They are good, just not great, not that it is a bad thing.
