It looks like it just needed a little prod and some good karma for some content to come out of the woodwork.

As of yesterday, I can say that I have read all of the Harry Potter books. I am not sure how huge of an acomplishment this is considering that thousands of 13 year olds can say the same thing, but it is nice to be through them all. I started reading them at the end of July, so less than 2 months for the series isn't too bad. I personally enjoyed the 3rd book the best, but the 6th was interesting for the number of open threads for the last book. Overall I enjoyed the books, they are easy reads that are nice, and having seen the first 3 movies, I am glad that I read the last 3 books before the 4th movie comes out since there will be much the movie won't be able to cover compared to the first 3 movies. Now I think I need to go back and watch the first 3 movies before the 4th comes out this Christmas. And now I sit like so many kids and adults waiting for the last book to be written. It also leaves the question on what to start reading next, with the Dark Tower series coming to mind. I think I need to reread the first 4 before attempting the last couple...

While the acting wasn't great in the film (I know that Keanu is a wonderful actor, but even superstars have days off), the content of the film was enough to keep me interested. The premise of "what would happen if an angel got jealous of humans" is done a little bit different in this film. Well, not that different, it just involved a lot more blown up demons and a really well done special effect of Hell. In fact that is one of the things that really made the movie was the special effects. They could have been really poor and overdone with the subjet matter, but they actually did what they were supposed to. The version of Hell that is portrayed is an alternate Earth burned down and covered in fiery winds, not a bad job. If the whole Hell coming to Earth with bad guy angels intrigues you, I would check this out.

I had no idea what to expect from this rather amusing movie. I suppose I would label this as an ecentric comedy, along the same lines as Rushmore, although a little bit more of a downer. Garden State had good performances by all involved, although some of the drug references were a bit overdone in my opinion. The movie could have done without them and still been fine, or even done without them and replaced them with a bit more of the plot and gotten along even better. The drug scenes aside, this movie definately had laugh out loud moments which made it worth it for me. For those of you that like off the wall comedies, I would recommend checking it out.

Almost everyday at some point I click on the shortcut to MyTungsten on the bookmark bar in Firefox and everyday I see the same thing. It makes me wonder what happened to the content heavy times of 3 years ago when The Content Webring was full of activity and wacky antics. I think of things like the Sarcastic Weiners and the Ocu Forum and wonder what killed it all. As we speak, I am working on a redesign of MyTungsten with the concept of myself. It is my web site, so why doesn't it reflect things about me? But as I do this redesign, I have a feeling some of the past "content" on my site may bite the dust as it doesn't fit too well with the new concept. This leads to the question, what makes the content on a personal web site? Is the forced content of Forum 3000 parodies that have not been updated in years worthy still or does it go by the wayside?

I have looked over the rest of The Content Webring web sites recently and I see a similar trend of some leftover content from the past, blogs that are updated at random schedules and of course, the ideal of upholding the concept of Content. So while this rant may not have a specific point, maybe it can be a catalyst to bring The Content Webring into discussion one more time to decide what needs to be done to keep it relavent. I also leave with the question, "Is the bringing together of information from a number of different sources in one place considered content?" or am I just making a personal portal to links and information about me that no longer has any content at all?
