  • Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy

This is the first movie I have gotten from Netflix that I have seen before renting it, so I feel a little guilty about writing a review for it. However, I did rent it and it is reviewable, so here goes. This is one of my favorite comedies of all time, many people don't like this movie as it is so odd. It took me a couple of times watching it before I could really appreciate it, however, it is some top notch stuff. Following the story of a drug to rid the planet of depression, we go through many parodies of real life. If you like off the wall humor, you owe it to yourself to check this out.

The baseball season is rolling around again and it apparently means the return of the most hated 30 seconds of any day, the Arm and Hammer Jason Giambi commercial. For those of you lucky enough not to see it, this commercial has it all. From the cheezy pr0n music, to the horrible "They don't sweat, or smell like a guy" comment, this is the worst 30 seconds on television. If I didn't already hate the Yankees with all of my life, this would simply give my hatred more strength. To quote Rick James, "I wish I had two more hands, so I could give it 4 thumbs down." If you would like to voice your opinion on Jason Giambi in general, I give you this web site.

Some news on the blog front, I have purchased the domain name www.dudeweek.com specifically for the blog today. The DNS information should be going through in the next couple of days, so you can start to use that domain name at that time. Also, as you can probably tell, I have redesigned the web site for hopefully the final time in a long time. It isn't that I didn't like the old look, it is just that I wanted to try something new with the picture and the fixed width. So here is the result, any feedback/issues you have, please let me know.

A recommendation from Eric, I was told to check this out after being horribly disappointed by The Undergroud Comedy Movie. So, two months later this came up on the Netflix list and here I am, and I am glad to have taken his advice. This is a really funny movie from the opening skit to the overriding spoof of a 50's scifi film. There is some nudity in this, but it is even done in a joking fashion. If you are looking for a good spoof movie and can stand a little odd humor, definitely check this out.

Having seen the first two American Pie movies, I thought I should probably see the last one as well. After seeing this movie I need to remind myself to stop thinking. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The plot is not there, the characters are the same as before, but the directors felt they needed to be exaggerated even more. The awkward scenes which turned out funny in the first two movies never got funny and were too awkward to even watch. I can't recommend this to anyone, even for the 3 times I did laugh.
